The SafeGolf partnership consists of members from the golfing bodies across Great Britain & Ireland and has been established to help golf respond to the issue of child protection in sport. Its mission is to safeguard the welfare of children and young people, as well as adults at risk, in the sport of golf. By achieving this standard it demonstrates the commitment by our club to the standards set by the SafeGolf.

SafeGolf is firstly, a website which can be found at www.safegolf.org.  This website allows anyone with a concern about the welfare of a player, or the behaviour or practice of a coach, volunteer, organiser, parent or a player, can contact the lead safeguarding officer at their national governing body.

Secondly, it is the safeguarding standard England Golf will promote to all their affiliated clubs to ensure all clubs provide a safe and positive experience to children and young people whilst playing golf. The PGA are also using the standards to apply to all their PGA professional Coaches.

Under the sturdy leadership of Mick Cooper and his Vice-Captain Dean Mellings it has been a hugely successful season so far.

The team had a tension-filled match in their penultimate fixture last Saturday to secure promotion and guarantee second place.  A 6-2 win was required to put the team in a strong position to challenge for the title and to enormous relief, the lads got the result!

This Saturday (28th October) sees the team enter into their final match of the season against Perton GC.

For what will be another nerve-wracking match, the team would love for you to support them as they enter the final fixture of the season.  Another 6-2 win will see the lads pip the Halesowen GC team to win the league on points.

Mick and the team welcome you to come along and be part of the build-up and absorb the atmosphere of what is sure to be a top drawer display of golf, your support around the course will be more than welcome.

The first match tee’s off at 1 pm – we hope to see you there.
