On July 24th the ladies played in our annual Past Captains Salver Trophy the Winner this year being Lorraine Barker with the Runner-up Doreen Smith, which was very well played on one of the hottest days of the year – resulting in a rush to the bar after the 18th for a well earned cold drink on our newly refurbished large balcony overlooking our course.
It was a very successful day ending with Steve’s special Ladies High Tea, lovely sandwiches, cakes and scones, jam & cream all enjoyed by 25 Past Ladies Captains with lots of chatter and catching-up with news.
It was lovely to see Vera join us for this event, 40 years ago she was Great Barr Golf Clubs lady captain!
