An introduction to GBGC Senior Section.

You automatically become a member at the start of your 55th year and are eligible for all competitions.  There is no annual subscription.

During the golf season we play 13 handicap competitions. These take place during the week over your choice of either Tuesday or Wednesdays, the majority are Stableford format.

All our competitions are played from the forward yellow tees.

All the sections annual events can be found on our notice board in the gent’s locker room, located as you enter on the left-hand wall, also on the club website diary along with reminders in our monthly Newsletter.

All the senior’s competitions are handicap qualifying with a £2 entry fee payable on the days of the competitions in the pro shop. The sweep is paid to winners and runners up, paid from £1 the other £1 for section administration and end of season prizes. Bar cards or pro shop accounts will be credited shortly after the results. The only variation on entry charge is for the Bob Evans 9 hole handicap qualifier where the charge is £1.

Knock Outs: Peter Ellis pairs, Lambert Bowl Pairs and Bob Eden Singles are also played in the week during the daytime, so consider your work pattern when entering as they need to be flexible to accommodate others. Entry is £2 per person with a closing date of end of March in the pro shop. The draw will be made in April and all entrants notified via ClubV1 also
available on the club website under Knock Out competitions. The initial draw will also go onto our notice board. Winners and runners up will receive their trophy and sweep money at our annual presentation night in October.
