Safeguarding and Welfare
SafeGolf
SafeGolf is a partnership of UK golf bodies committed to promoting a safe and positive environment for all those participating, working and volunteering in the sport of golf
SafeGolf is an accreditation scheme for golf clubs run by England Golf, designed to demonstrate a safe and positive environment for all those participating, working and volunteering in the sport of golf and in particular, to safeguard the welfare of children and young people, as well as adults at risk, in the sport of golf.
Achieving SafeGolf accreditation is a mandatory requirement of the England Golf affiliation process for all Golf Clubs as of January 2021.
In order to achieve accreditation, the Board of Great Barr Golf Club must adopt the England Golf Safeguarding Policy and Procedures templates and take steps to communicate this to members, visitors, staff and volunteers.
The purpose of this page is to let you know that we have now approved new Safeguarding Policies and Procedures for Children and Adults and these can be found below, copies of the policies will be displayed at the Golf Club in either the locker rooms or foyer areas.
Details of how to contact the Welfare Officers or raise any concerns are posted in the foyer outside the Professional Shop.
The Board is committed to making our club a safe and inclusive environment for people of all ages and backgrounds and securing SafeGolf accreditation is key to achieving this.
